Institutions Focus on Personality Development

Universities and colleges in Coimbatore region have begun concentrating on personality development classes to help students stand a better chance of being employed. Official sources at Bharathiar University said that after hearing feedback from recruiters that students lacked confidence in expressing themselves, and were likely to be unsuitable when working in teams, institutions had started organizing soft skills workshops, subject-based orientation and personal counseling.

Placement officers had visited business process outsourcing (BPO) companies that were the major recruiters of arts and science graduates. They had learnt first hand the impact of night shift employment, stress in the round-the-clock working place and professional challenges that had risen because of the changing nature of modern business
