After the 1st phase of counseling for MBBS/BDS course for 2006-2007 held from 10-7-06 to 17-7-06, 65 vacancies in government medical colleges, 2 in IRT, Perundurai medical college and 12 in Tamilnadu government dental college have occurred due to not joining of the candidates. Three more additional seats for MBBS course in IRT perundurai medical college are offered to state quota. The director general of health service has granted permission for the additional intake of 40 seats for BDS course in Tamilnadu government dental college for 2006-07 sessions.
The following self-financing medical institutions have agreed to surrender 65% of the seats in MBBS course to government quota for allotment under single window system as follows
