240 Schools Upgraded
Chennai: The state government has upgraded 240 schools, to enable students to pursue studies on a continuous basis.
“Giving into public demand, the government has passed orders to upgrade 120 middle schools to high schools and 120 high schools to higher secondary schools”. Minister for School Education Thangam Thennarasu told the Assembly on Friday during his reply to the debate on demand for grants for his Ministry. An additional 7,979 teacher posts will be created in high schools and higher secondary schools from this year and will be filled through employment exchanges on a seniority basis. These include the posts of graduate Tamil teachers in 525 new high schools.
