Coimbatore: The United Nations has declared 2005-14 as the decade of education for sustainable development. We should take this call very seriously if we aspire for a sustainable future, Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar University G. Thiruvasagam said here on Wednesday.
“A paradigm shift from awareness and understanding to involvement, participation and problem solving in education should be brought about to meet the immediate and future challenges,” he said at the inauguration of a training for MBA and MSW students on “Be and Make – Prepare to Present and be Placed”.
The programme was organised by the Coimbatore Chapter of National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) to guide the post-graduates to be well equipped to get good placements.
