Bharathiar University Redesigns Arts & Science Courses
Coimbatore: The Bharathiar University (BU) has redesigned the arts and science courses with a view to reviving the traditional courses that are not attracting the students of late.
According to Vice-Chancellor Prof G Thiruvasagam, only 23 percent seats in arts and 30 percent seats in science get filled up in rural colleges while in city colleges the percentages are just higher like 41 and 54. "So, from now on B.Sc. Chemistry will be offered with 'Industrial Chemistry' and 'Computer Application', 'Pharmaceutical Chemistry' and 'Polimer Technology'.
Similarly, Physics will be in a new form as Physics with 'Nano Technology' and 'Material Science'," he said.
