Madurai: Learning Japanese language, apart from enhancing job opportunities in Japan-based companies, would also open up a vast cultural and intellectual horizon, thereby bridging the gap between the two Asian countries, remarked Sakura Oozaki, Vice-Consul, Culture, Information and Development Affairs in Consulate General of Japan, Chennai.
She was speaking at the inaugural function of the Department of Japanese Language and Culture, here at American College.
Lauding the college authorities for the initiative, Oozaki stated that more Japanese companies are coming to India these days and also added that a better understanding of the rich world of Japanese cinema, music and literature could be possible through language learning.
