NCERT begins Talent Search

Time has come for talented students in Classes VIII and X to match their skills with the best in the country. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) have announced its National Talent Search Scheme for 2007. The purpose of the scheme is to identify talented students and nurture their skills in areas such sciences, social sciences, engineering, medicine, management and law.

It honors and helps talented students by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship. For the courses in basic sciences, social sciences and commerce, this assistance is provided up to the Ph.D. level. For professional courses such as engineering, medicine, management and law, funding is given only up to post graduation level.
