Chennai: Students of all government medical colleges in the State called off their strike early Tuesday morning after considering an appeal by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, representatives of student groups said.
The strike had been “temporarily withdrawn,” and might be re-launched if the Centre decided to go ahead with its proposal to extend the MBBS course by a year, imposing compulsory rural service on students.
