Dealing with Stress in School, at Work
Institutions must acknowledge problem: expert
Chennai: To deal with stress in the workplace and educational institutions, employers and schools must accept that stress is an inherent part of their institution, said U. Gautamadas, a consultant on neuro behavioural medicine and stress management.
He was speaking on `Child Burnout and the BPO Syndrome', a lecture organised by the Public Relations Society of India.
Dr Gautamadas quoted a recent survey that found private schools were more stressful than government schools. "The perception of stress increases with age, along with the urge to perform. And stress has a negative impact on performance. So it is a vicious circle," he said.
