Scheme to cover one lakh students
Tiruchi: The Madras University will implement the `Personal Accident Insurance' scheme for the benefit of students, teaching and non-teaching staff of all the colleges affiliated to it from the current insurance year, starting October 1.
The scheme covering an estimated one lakh students will be implemented by the Tiruchi division of the New India Assurance Company.
The annual premium is Rs. 60 and the scheme mainly aims at paying off an insurance relief to students, faculty and other staff involved in road mishaps.
