Tamil Nadu Agricultural University launches Agri Portal Kiosk
Coimbatore: An Agri Portal Kiosk was launched at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) here on Thursday.
This kiosk would enable farmers get information on sowing, raising crops, harvest, post harvest management, new varieties and price indications in the regional language.
Inaugurating the kiosk, D K Bhatt, Marketing Director, Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Ltd (IFFCO), said that at cooperative societies in various parts of the country, hundreds of such touch screens would be installed.
Speaking to journalists, he said that IFFCO`s annual turnover would be increased to Rs 15,000 core by 2010 thus benefiting the member cooperative societies and farmers in the country.
The biggest market for IFFCO was Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. UP accounted for 40 percent of the total market, he added.
