50 PC of Engineering Students “Unemployable”
Mere multiplication of colleges will not ensure quality
Coimbatore: While India produces the second largest number of engineers in the world, more than half of them are “unemployable”, A.Sathish Kumar, MD, henkel India limited, said on Friday.
While 3, 60,000 students passed out of engineering colleges last year, recent studies revealed that nearly 2, 00,000 of them were unemployable.
He was inaugurating TECH SEM 2006, a state-level technical symposium organized by sri Krishna college of engineering and technology here.
