New panel to oversee admission in professional colleges
Chennai: The Tamilnadu government on Thursday introduced the much-awaited comprehensive bill to regulate admissions and fee structure in self-financing professional colleges in the state.
As per the tamilnadu professional educational institutions (Regulation of admission and determination of fee) act 2006 bill, tabled by higher education minister Ponmudy in the assembly, a new panel would fix the fees and regulate admissions for medical, dental, engineering and architecture courses. This means the existing entrance examination and fee committees constituted under the directions of the Supreme Court will be superseded.
