Affiliation of schools to foreign boards
New Delhi: The Government has constituted a committee to recommend a policy regarding affiliation of Indian schools and international ones located in the country to foreign boards, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Monday.
In a written reply, Minister of State for Human Resource Development D. Purandeswari said as per the information available, 148 Indian schools are presently affiliated to the Cambridge International Examinations.
Replying to another question, she said that Urdu language, spoken by 5.18 percent of the population in the country, is being taught in 23 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.
