Government Permission not needed for New Engineering Colleges: HC

Chennai: Once recognition was granted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Anna University is obliged to grant affiliation to the new engineering colleges, the Madras High Court has ruled.


A Division Bench comprising Justice P Sathasivam and Justice V Dhanapalan gave the ruling while disposing of a batch of writ appeals from the State and another batch of writ petitions from various educational institutions.
