Acute shortage of accounting professionals

Tirupur: Stating that there is an acute shortage of accounting professionals in India as well as the rest of the world, TN Manoharan, president of the institute of Chartered accountants of India has appealed to youngsters to take up the profession.


Inaugurating the 38th regional conference of southern India regional council of ICAI here on Friday, Mr. Manoharan said the duration of course of CA has been reduced to four years from five years and three months. “ICAI, as a matter of policy, is continuously updating the syllabi, scheme of education and training of students to be consonance with international education trend, government, business and societal demand,” he said.
