SBI Branches to adopt One Girl Child Each
Dindigul: State Bank of India has celebrated Children’s day in a different manner this year. For the first time, over 700 branches in Tamil Nadu circle have adopted one girl child each, mostly orphaned or destitute from a poor family, funding her educational expenses till she completes her school, as part of community service banking.
Launching the Girl Child Adoption Scheme, a unique scheme offering financial assistance for the education of a girl child at a simple function held at a child care home situated on the outskirts of the town on Wednesday, SBI Assistant General Manager, R. Viswanathan announced that the Dindigul main branch has adopted Syni Linci, a fourth class student of J.K. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Dindigul.
