French Institute of Pondicherry Launched Web Catalogue
It will help researchers locate specific titles
Puducherry: This library has a collection of 59,000 books, 300 theses, 800 journals and 1,000 articles on topics related to Indology, the social sciences and ecology. Its multi-script catalogue is on-line now.
Web Catalogue was launched by Education Minister M.O.H.F. Shahjahan at the French Institute of Pondicherry on Tuesday.
The Consul-General of France in Pondicherry and Chennai, Joelle Rayet, in her felicitation address, said the catalogue would be useful to researchers looking for specific titles and books.
Mr Shahjahan commended the French Institute for its large collection of books and palm leaf manuscripts.
