Court Ruling on Affiliation for Educational Institutions
Chennai: Once an educational institution obtains recognition from a central body such as the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the examining body/university concerned is obliged to grant affiliation, the Madras High Court has said.
Justice V. Dhanapalan, citing the rulings by the Supreme Court and the Madras High Court, said it had already been held that it would be an “error of law” if universities imposed a precondition of prior permission from the State Government.
