Ramanujan Prize for University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Professor

Chennai: The 2006 SASTRA Ramanujan Prize will be awarded to Professor Terence Tao of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

The annual prize, launched in 2005, honours outstanding contribution to areas of mathematics which are influenced by mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan.
Age limit

The age limit for the prize is 32 because Ramanujan achieved so much in his brief life of 32 years, says SASTRA University’s Dean, Planning, S.Vydhiasubramanium.
