UPSC Accused of Violating Quota Norms
Chennai: University of Madras former Vice Chancellor S Sadiq and the director of a private coaching centre on Friday charged the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) with allegedly committing irregularities in selecting IAS, IPS and IFS aspirants under the Open Competition category.
At a press conference here, Sadiq said the UPSC had exclusively appointed candidates from the forward community against vacancies in the Open Competition category. Members of the Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Tribes who qualified for selection under the Open Competition category were appointed only under the reserved categories, he alleged.
