California Clears School Textbooks
New York: A California court has ruled that the school textbooks in the State ‘‘do not’’ unfairly represent the Hindus under the existing laws, as alleged by the Hindu-America Foundation (HAF) in a petition which urged the court to change such textbooks.
The HAF had pleaded that the textbooks of Grade Six are discriminatory and unfair against the Hindus, especially in the depiction of gods and goddess, caste system, the Aryan invasion theory and status of women in ancient India.
