More School ban Cola on Campus
Chennai: Concerned about the health of their students, more schools in Chennai have joined the battle against pesticide –laced cola products by banning sale or consumption of aerated soft drinks on their campuses. The ban has been imposed over the past two days, based on the disturbing findings of the Centre for Science and Environment that Pepsi and Coca Cola products contained pesticides far above permissible limits.
“Many Schools have enforced ban on colas (including the orange and lemon variants) over the past few days. We have decided to stop sales of cola products in the canteen from Wednesday as it concerns the health of our students,” said SK Venkattassalapandian, principal, Adarsh Senior Secondary School, T Nagar.
