New Delhi: The Government has asked all universities recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to follow a uniform academic calendar. Beginning this academic year, every college or varsity will begin classes for first year students in the first week of August. The remaining batches will begin by the third week of July. The move will affect all UGC recognised universities and colleges, whether Central, state or a deemed. About 350 universities and colleges will have to there to the new schedule.
