All India Council for Technical Education

Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in its various Judgments ruled that charging of Capitation Fee by Technical Institutions is not permissible. The All India Council for Technical Education, a Statutory Body of the Government of India established by an Act of Parliament has been entrusted with the responsibility for prevention of commercialization of technical education. Charging of any fee over and above the fee approved by the State Fee Committee and/or the competent authority / University shall be construed as Capitation Fee. In case any specific instance of charging of capitation fee brought to the notice of the Council, necessary action including withdrawal of approval shall be taken against such erring institutions.
