Primary Schools Filled 20,000 Teachers Post

2, 000 college teachers have also been recruited

With vacant teacher posts in government schools being filled on the basis of seniority in employment exchanges, the State Government had filled nearly 20, 000 posts in primary schools in the last nine months, Higher Education Minister K. Ponmudi said here on Wednesday.

Convocation

Delivering the convocation address at the Lady Willingdon Institute of Advanced Study in Education, the Minister said unlike in other departments, vacancies in schools and colleges would affect the future generation. The Government had lifted the ban on recruitment of teachers.
